Rose: "Any idea who I just threatened to beat up?"
Lissa: "Not a clue."

- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "Liss, You aren't Andre."
Lissa: "He was always involved in all that stuff.”
Rose: "Yeah, well, he's dead now.”
Lissa: "You know, sometimes you aren't very nice.”
Rose: "You don't keep me around to be nice. You want nice, there are a dozen sheep in there who would rip each other's throats to get in good with the Dragomir princess. You keep me around to tell you the truth, and here it is: Andre's dead. ..."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Lissa: "What are you doing here?"
Christian: "Taking in the sights, of course. That chair with the tarp on it is particularly lovely this time of year. Over there, we have an old box full of the writings of the blessed and crazy St. Vladimir. And let's not forget that beautiful table with no legs in the corner.”
- Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Vampire Academy)

Christian: "Oh. So that's why you're up here. For a pity party.”
Lissa: "This isn't a joke. I'm serious."
Christian: "So am I. I love pity parties. I wish I'd brought the hats. What do you want to mope about first? How it's going to take you a whole day to be popular and loved again? How you'll have to wait a couple weeks before Hollister can ship out some new clothes? If you spring for rush shipping, it might not be so long.”
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Lissa: "Everyone here thinks they know who I am.”
Christian: "Yeah. It's kind of hard to outlive your past,"
- Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Vampire Academy)

Christian: "Squatters' rights. Besides, I have to make sure I stay near the chapel as much as possible so people know I haven't gone Strigoi…yet."
Lissa: "I used to always see you at mass. Is that the only reason you go? To look good?"
Christian: "Sure, Why else go? For the good of your soul?”
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "You aren't, like, into him, are you?”
Lissa: "No. Of course not."
Rose: "Good. Because if you're going to go after a guy, steal Aaron back."
Lissa: "Mia would claw my eyes out.”
Rose: "We can take her. Besides, he deserves someone who doesn't shop at Gap Kids.”
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "Come on, she picks fights and talks about us behind our backs. She accused me of getting jeans from the Salvation Army yesterday.”
Lissa: "Your jeans are from the Salvation Army.”
Rose: "Well, yeah, but she has no right making fun of them when she's wearing stuff from Target.”
Lissa: "Hey, there's nothing wrong with Target. I like Target.”
Rose: "So do I. That's not the point. ...”
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "What is that? Is it a crow?”
Ms Karp: "Too big. It's a raven.”
Lissa: "Is it dead?”
Rose: "Yeah. Definitely dead. Don't touch it.”
- Rose Hathaway, Ms. Karp, and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Lissa: "You're under house arrest. They won't let you hang out and talk to him.”
Rose: "I don't really want to 'talk' to him. We'll slip away."
Lissa: "I just don't know about you sometimes."
Rose: "That's because you're the cautious one, and I'm the reckless one."
- Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)

Christian: "Not much to it. They suspended me for a week, that's all. Not like it's hard to sneak out. As you can see.”
Lissa: "I'm surprised you didn't get more time.”
Christian: "Disappointed?”
Lissa: "You set someone on fire!”
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

"You're some kind of superstar. Some kind of evil, compulsion-abusing superstar."
- Christian Ozera to Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

"People think I'm unstable, but I tell you, Rose is ten times worse. Of course, that makes it harder for people to fuck with you, so I'm all for it."
- Christian Ozera to Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

"Do I need to give you the Christian's-a-psychopathic-loser talk again?"
- Rose Hathaway to Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

"I know it's impossible to believe a freak like me could keep his mouth shut—especially since neither of you can—but I have better things to do than spread stupid rumors."
Christian to Rose and Lissa (Vampire Academy)

Lissa: "At least she isn't like you. She doesn't pretend to be my friend one day and then ignore me for no reason.”
Christian: "Yeah? I thought that was the way all royals were supposed to act. You certainly seem to be doing a good job with it. Or maybe you're just using compulsion on me to make me think you're a two-faced bitch. Maybe you really aren't. But I doubt it.”
- Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Vampire Academy)

"Have I mentioned you can be a huge bitch sometimes?”
- Lissa Dragomir to Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)

I don't know what's crazier: what you're actually telling me or the fact that you actually read something to find all this out.”
- Lissa Dragomir to Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)

Lissa: "You've got three thermal shirts and a hoodie, You've gone all boring on me.”
Rose: "Hey, I don't see you buying slutty tops.”
Lissa: "I'm not the one who wears them.”
Rose: "Thanks a lot.”
- Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)

"Back to prison. Maybe if you fake a heart attack, I can make a break for it.”
-Rose Hathaway to Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "If they let me go. Kirova's still deciding if I've been good enough.”
Lissa: "Show her those boring shirts you bought. She'll go into a coma. I'm about ready to.”
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Christian: "I'm a lot of things, but I'm not a liar. That's your department. And Rose's.”
Lissa: "We don't—”
Christian: "Exaggerate stories about people's families? Say that you hate me? Pretend to be friends with people you think are stupid? Date a guy you don't like?”
Lissa: "I like him.”
Christian: "Like or like?”
Lissa: "Oh, there's a difference?”
Christian: "Yes. Like is when you date a big, blond moron and laugh at his stupid jokes.”
- Then, out of nowhere, he leaned forward and kissed her. It was hot and fast and furious, an outpouring of the rage and passion and longing that Christian always kept locked inside of him. Christian pulled back from the kiss but still kept his face next to hers. -
"That's what you do with someone you like.”
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Victor: "I know how you healed Rose.”
Lissa: "That…was different. Rose wasn't that hurt. ..."
Victor: "Not that hurt? I'm not talking about her ankle ... I'm talking about the car accident. Because you're right, you know. Rose didn't get 'that hurt.' She died.”
Victor Dashkov and Lissa Dragomir (Vampire Academy)

Rose: "Did you (Tasha) start learning to fight before or after that happened to your face?"
Lissa: "Rose!"
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Frostbite)

Lissa: "Don't you think we're going to go to hell for this?"
Christian: "For this?" He played with the shirt's edge, letting his finger just barely brush inside of it.
Lissa: "No. For this." She gestured around the attic. "This is a church. We shouldn't be doing this kind of, um, thing up here."
Christian: "Not true. The church is downstairs. This is just storage. God won't mind."
- Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Frostbite)

Rose: "Liss … I can't… you can't give me something like this."
Lissa: "Well, I certainly can't keep it. It's meant for a guardian. My guardian."
Rose: "You know, there's a good possibility I'll get kicked out of school before I can become your guardian."
Lissa: "Well, then you can give it back."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Frostbite)

Rose: "What's going on?"
Lissa: "Bad things, You'll approve."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Frostbite)

Mason: "Is it true you were hanging out with Adrian Ivashkov?"
Rose: "I—what?"
Mason: "I heard you guys got drunk last night."
Lissa: "You did?"
Rose: "No, of course not! I barely know him."
Mason: "But you do know him,"
Rose: "Barely."
Lissa: "He's got a bad reputation,"
Christian: "Yeah. He goes through a lot of girls."

Rose: "Will you guys lay off? I talked to him for, like, five minutes! And that's only because he was blocking my way inside. Where are you getting all this?" Immediately, I answered my own question. "Mia."
- Mason Ashford, Rose Hathaway, Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Frostbite)

Rose: "... you don't hang out with him 24/7"
Lissa: "Neither will you. It's only 24/6"
Rose: "Same difference. It might as well be 24/10"
Lissa: "That doesn't make sense"
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Shadow Kiss)

Rose: "Come on, You know me. Do you really think I'd do this? Abandon Christian and make myself look stupid on purpose just to get back at my teachers?"
Lissa: "No, You'd probably do it in a way where you wouldn't get caught."
Rose: "Dimitri said the same thing. I'm glad everyone has so much faith in me."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Shadow Kiss)

Lissa: "That's what I love about you. You have no idea how you'll get us to court, but you still push forward anyway to make me feel better."
Rose: "Is it working?"
Lissa: "Yes."
- Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway (Shadow Kiss)

Rose: "It's ok. You're just getting your stride back. Once you're up to full power, I'll go crack a rib or something so we can test it."
Lissa: "The horrible part is that I don't think you're joking."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Shadow Kiss)

Rose: "Stop it! Do not use compulsion on me. You're my friend. Friends dont use their powers on each other"
Lissa: "Friends don't abandon each other. If you're my friend you wouldnt do it."
Rose: "It's not about you, okay? This time, its about me. Not you. All my life, lissa ... all my life, it's been the same. They come first. I've lived my life for you. I've trained to be your shadow, but you know what? I want to come first. I need to take care of myself for once. I'm tired of looking out for everyone else and having to put aside what I want. Dimitri and I did that, and look at what happened. He's gone. I will never hold him again. Now I owe it to him to do this. I'm sorry if it hurts you, buts it's my choice!"
Lissa: "You love him more than me,"
Rose: "He needs me right now."
Lissa: "I need you. He's gone, Rose."
Rose: "No, but he will be soon"
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Shadow Kiss)

Christian: "We can run off to Paris or something and work at a little café. Or sell bad art on the streets.”
Lissa: “Right. I can totally see you having the patience to wait on people. You’d be fired your first day. Looks like the only way we’ll survive is if I go to college and support us.”
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Blood Promise)

Adrian: “Studying’s overrated. Just find someone smart to copy off.”
Lissa: “Are you saying I’m not smart?”
Adrian: “Hell no. You’re the smartest person I know. But that doesn’t mean you have to do unnecessary work.”
Lissa: “You can’t succeed in life if you don’t work. Copying from others won’t get you anywhere.”
Adrian: “Whatever, I copied all through school, and look how well I’m doing today.”
- Adrian Ivashkov and Lissa Dragomir (Blood Promise)

“I’m running out of things for you to heal. Unless we start cutting off limbs or something."
- Lissa Dragomir (
Blood Promise)

Christian: “After the attack, lots of people said they wanted to learn to fight with magic. So they found me, and we worked together . . . once or twice. Then everyone faded away once it got hard, and they realized they had to keep practicing.”
Lissa: “It doesn’t help that you’re a mean teacher."
Adrian: “And so now you’ve got to recruit among children,”
- Christian Ozera, Lissa Dragomir, & Adrian Ivashkov (
Blood Promise)

Adrian: “Fire and water, huh?” Adrian reached into his pocket and pulled out a one hundred-dollar bill. He snapped it out straight. "Sweetheart, I’ll make you a deal. If you can make a bucket of water appear and dump over Christian’s head, I’ll give you this.”
Lissa: “I’ll add in ten,”
- Adrian Ivashkov & Lissa Dragomir (
Blood Promise)

Lissa:
“Christian! Why can’t you do this for me?”
Christian:
“Because I hate the way Queen Bitch looks at me,”
Lissa:
“Yeah, but when we graduate, I’ll be living there. You’ll have to go then.”
Christian:
“Yeah, well, then give me this small vacation first."
- Lissa Dragomir & Christian Ozera (
Blood Promise)

Rose: "Do you believe in fairy tales?"
Lissa: "What kind of fairy tales?"
Rose: "The kind you aren't supposed to waste your life on."
- Rose Hathaway & Lissa Dragomir (Blood Promise)

Lissa: "Alberta thinks there's a good chance we can stay together--that you'll still be my guardian."
Rose: "I think Alberta was saying that to keep me in school. I think Alberta knows the only way they'd let me protect you is if I was the last guardian on earth. And even then, my odds would still be pretty slim."
- Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Rose: "Oh, Liss . . . I don't know. I don't want any, um, unfair advantage."
Lissa: "That's not the problem, and you know it. This one's fine, I swear."
...
'Making charms with spirit was something Lissa had only recently begun to experiment with--and she wasn't very good at it. Her best spirit ability was healing, so she kept trying to make healing charms. The last one had been a bracelet that singed my arm.'
...
'I gave her a faint smile, moved by her concern, and accepted the ring. It didn't scald my hand, which I took as a promising sign.'
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Spirit Bound)

Lissa: “You think Mia knows how to break into a prison?
Rose: “Mia’s good, but I don’t think she’s that good. She can probably help us get intel, though.”
Lissa: “I can’t believe you just used the word intel. This really is turning into a spy movie.”
- Lissa Dragomir & Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Mia: "And Rose wants something now."
Rose: "Hey, we're just happy to see you."
Mia: "I believe you. But I also believe you've got an ulterior motive."
Lissa: "What makes you say that? Can you read Rose that well or do you just always assume she's got an ulterior motive?"
Mia: "Both."
- Mia Rinaldi, Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Spirit Bound)

Lissa: “They spend time together, practice some physical moves, one thing leads to another-”
Rose: “That’s ridiculous. That kind of stuff isn’t romantic at all.” Another lie, seeing as that was exactly how my relationship with Dimitri had begun. Again, best not to mention that.
- Lissa Dragomir & Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Rose: "A spoon?"
Lissa: "Hey, it's not easy to keep getting a hold of silver. I have to take what I can get."
Rose: "Well, it'd make for happy dinner parties."
Lissa: "Speaking of which . . . how was your dinner party? ... I don't suppose Her Royal Majesty showed up?"
Rose: "She did, and . . . it wasn't awful."
Lissa: "What? Did you say 'wasn't'?"

Rose: "I know, I know. It was so crazy. It was this really quick visit to see Adrian, and she acted like me being there was no big deal. Of course, who knows what would have happened if she stayed? Maybe she would have turned into her old self. I would have needed a whole set of magic silverware then--to stop me from pulling a knife on her."
- Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir (Spirit Bound)

Lissa: “How long until you think we stop? Or die from carbon monoxide poisoning?”
Rose: “We havn’t even left the Court yet.”
'She sighed.'
- Lissa Dragomir & Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Rose: “You know what we need?”
Lissa: “A new plane?”
Eddie: “A miracle?”
- Rose Hathaway, Lissa Dragomir & Eddie Castile (Spirit Bound)

Robert: "Killing or saving a Strigoi sends the soul back to a normal state. There is no bond."
Lissa: "Then there's no danger."
Rose: "Aside from a Strigoi killing you."
- Robert Doru, Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Christian: "How do you feel?"
Lissa: "Tired. Worn out. Like . . . I don't know. Like I've been thrown around in a hurricane. Or run over by a car. Pick something horrible, and that's what I feel like."
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Spirit Bound)

Dimitri: "You saved me."
Lissa: "I only did the final piece. The rest . . . well, Rose did, um, a lot."
Rose - 'Say, like, organizing a prison break and releasing fugitives.'
Dimitri Belikov, Lissa Dragomir, and Rose Hathaway (Spirit Bound)

Christian: "In spite of everything, even with Avery--"
Lissa: "Christian, I'm so sorry for that--"
Christian: "You don't have to--"
Lissa: "I do--"
Christian: "Damn it. Will you let me finish a sent--"
Lissa: "No."
- Christian Ozera and Lissa Dragomir (Spirit Bound)

Lissa: Arn't there any. I don't know, sleeveless options?"
'The saleswoman's eyes widened.'
Saleswoman: "No one has ever worn straps to a royal funeral. It wouldn't be right."
Adrian: "What about shorts? Are they okay if they're with a tie? Because that's what I was gonna go with"
'The woman looked horrified.'
- Lissa Dragomir, Adrian Ivashkov, and Saleswoman (Last Sacrifice)

Christian: "Worst .Timing.Ever."
Adrian: "Huh, So that's how you're going to fix the family problem. Little Dragomirs. Good idea."
Christian: "Yeah, that's exactly it. You're interrupting official Council business."
...
Christian: "Sleep first. Shower later. I'll sleep with you."
Lissa: "Sleep or sleep?"
Christian: "Real sleep. You need it. Of course, afterward if you want to conduct any official Council business..."
Lissa: "I swear, if you say 'Little Dragomirs', you can sleep in the hall."
- Christian Ozera, Adrian Ivashkov and Vasilisa Dragomir (Last Sacrifice)

Lissa: "It's Adrian."
Christian: "Well, at least his timing is better than usual."
Adrian: "Get up, guys. We've got a visit to pay."
Christian: "I am not hanging out with Blake Lazar again."
Adrian: "You and me both."
- Vasilisa Dragomir, Christian Ozera and Adrian Ivashkov (Last Sacrifice)

Nathan: "According to the election laws -laws set down since the beginning of time - each candidate must approach the Council , escorted by someone of their bloodline in order to show family strength and unity. Do you have any such a person?"
Lissa: "No, Lord Ivashkov."
Nathan: "Then I'm afraid your part in this game is over, Princess Dragomir. You may sit down now."
Rose - 'Yup. That's when all hell broke loose. I'd always heard the expression, "And the crowd goes wild!" Now, I saw it in the flesh. Half the time, I couldn't even keep track of who was shouting or supporting what. People argued in clusters and one-on-one. A couple of Moroi in jeans challenged every well-dressed person they could find, operating on the irrational assumptions that anyone in nice clothes must be royal and that all royals hated Lissa. Their devotion to her was admirable. Creepy, but admirable. One group from Tarus family stood face to face with a Conta group, looking prepared for either a gang fight or a dance-off. That was one of the most bizarre pairings of all since those two families were the only ones who should be in complete agreement on anything. On and on it went. People fought about whether Lissa should be eligible for the vote. They fought about having a session to change the law books right at that moment. Some fought over thing I'd never heard of before.'
- Nathan Ivashkov, Vasilisa Dragomir, Rose Hathaway (Last Sacrifice)
